Unfortunately, cybercriminals know popularity means opportunity.

Researchers have found that PayPal was the most impersonated business in financial phishing attacks last year.

 Almost 2 in 5 of all attacks pretended to be from the company. There’s a risk to your business if an employee falls for any phishing scam.

It starts with an email from PayPal or your bank that looks genuine. It’ll ask you to do something simple, such as clicking a link to update your details.

 The page that opens looks like the real website… but it’s not. It’s a spoof site. And once you enter your login details, they’re stolen by the attackers.

 Get your team to look carefully at emails like these. Sometimes there are grammatical errors, or the link looks suspicious.

If in doubt, type in the usual website address into a browser and log in that way. A few seconds of checking the small details could save you the disaster of money being stolen from your business’s bank account.
